Product details
The New York Yankees defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 7-3 in Game 4 of the 1928 World Series on October 9, 1928, at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis. This victory secured a four-game sweep for the Yankees, giving them their third World Series championship and making them the first team to record back-to-back sweeps. Babe Ruth was the star of the game, hitting three solo home runs (in the 4th, 7th, and 8th innings), a feat he had also accomplished against the Cardinals in the 1926 World Series. After his second home run, some St. Louis fans threw bottles at him; after his third, they stood and cheered. This ticket is authenticated and encapsulated as authentic by PSA/DNA.
