Product details

Miller Huggins (1878-1929), nicknamed "Mighty Mite" for his small stature, was a Hall of Fame player and manager best known as the architect of the New York Yankees' first dynasty in the 1920s. He led the fabled "Murderers' Row" teams, featuring stars like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, to six American League pennants and three World Series titles. Babe Ruth, nicknamed "The Sultan of Swat" and "The Bambino," was an American professional baseball player widely considered the greatest to ever play the game and one of America's most iconic sports heroes. He revolutionized baseball, ushering in the "live-ball era" with his prodigious home-run hitting power. RuthÕs 1927 season, which featured 60 HRs amongst its accomplishments, is one of the greatest seasons in Baseball history. Ruth famously converted from pitcher to hitter early on in his career, which is attributed by him being the all time WAR leader with 182.6. Additionally, he held a record for 29 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings pitched in the World Series, a mark that lasted until 1961. Ruth hit 714 career homeruns (which still ranks 3rd all time), and is widely considered the greatest player in the history of the game. Finding signatures of both Ruth and Huggins are difficult on their own, to find them BOTH one over the other on an item unobstructed by other signers, is a near impossibility. These two key componenets of the New York Yankees original dynasty are seldom offered on one piece, let alone featuring such stunningly bold fountain pen autographs on each. This cut has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, and given an incredibly high grade of Mint 9. This incredibly rare piece is maybe seen once in a collectors lifetime, and rarely if ever outside of an auction house environment.
