Product details

Napoleon "Larry" Lajoie was the American League's first superstar, dominating the early 20th century with a combination of historic contact hitting and stellar defense. His .426 batting average in 1901 still remains the highest season long batting average in AL History, and remains the best average in the modern (post 1900) baseball era. Lajoie was a 5x batting champion and the third member to join the 3,000 hit club. As Baseballs first true "Superstar", he paved the way for generations of players like babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and hundreds of other all-time icons. A memeber of the inaugural 5 Hall of Fame class, Lajoie is an absolute must-own for any historic baseball autograph collector. This Larry Lajoie signed Index Card features a strong autograph, and has been dated by Lajoie "9-27-54". It comes complete with a JSA full letter of authenticity.
