Product details

Maris debuted in MLB in 1957 with the Cleveland Indians. His career advanced significantly after being traded to the New York Yankees in 1959. In 1960, his first season with the Yankees, he was named the American League MVP and won a Gold Glove Award. The height of his career occurred in 1961 during his famous and well documented home run race with teammate Mickey Mantle. That season, the American League schedule was extended to 162 games. Maris hit his 61st home run on the final day of the season, a major league record at the time and also earned his second consecutive AL MVP award that year. Maris would go on to help the Yankees win the World Series in 1961, 1962 and 1967. A 7x All Star, Maris died at the young age of 51, making his signature incredibly scarce and valuable. This Roger Maris album page has been hand signed by the Yankees legend and is guaranteed to pass ay Third Party Authentication.
