Product details
Leroy "Satchel" Paige was a legendary pitcher who spent the majority of his career in the Negro Leagues before becoming the oldest rookie in Major League Baseball (MLB) history. Known for his showmanship, longevity, and a vast arsenal of creative pitches, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers to ever play the game. While Negro League records are incomplete, Paige claimed to have pitched in 2,500 games and earned 2,000 victories, including roughly 250Ð330 shutouts and 50 no-hitters. In 2024, MLB officially incorporated Negro League statistics into its historical record; PaigeÕs 1.01 ERA from 1944 is now ranked as the third-best single-season ERA in major league history. Paige was the first Negro League player to be elected to the Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1971. This lined index card comes hand signed in blue ballpoint pen by Satchel Paige and is guaranteed to pass any Third Party Authentication service.
